NEW IN TIME FOR THE EASTER HOLIDAYS, a range of half-day baking classes launches at One Mile Bakery Exeter. Aimed at super busy people wanting to dip their toe into the world of baking their own bread, these introductory sessions are also ideal for anyone looking for a fun, relaxed and rewarding activity to do with children aged 8 and above.
Teaching in her micro bakery kitchen at home in Exeter, baker Boudicca Woodland is a busy working mum of two and came up with the taster class idea when time-pressured people requested a shorter class, or something they could bring children along to. Each session runs from 10am-1.30pm, and is a hands-on workshop which introduces the basics of baking great bread that’s free from any nasty additives and preservatives.
Learn to make a tear and share loaf – getting confident working with dough, and understanding the foundations of a delicious bake – and choose your own flavourings for the and decorative toppings. While your loaf rises, you’ll make a batch of incredibly light scones to take home and enjoy lunch.
The classes will run on Friday mornings, starting on 5, 19 and 26 April – book here. Places are £50 per person, children (accompanied by an adult) are £10 each. Further dates to be announced, but this class can also be booked for a private group – please contact Boudicca to book direct. Gift vouchers are also available for this class.
