Dart Fresh is a company that, until a few weeks ago, had been supplying some of the top restaurants across Devon & Somerset, with local produce and goods. But come the COVID-19 lockdown and the closure of all of their customers, they quickly adapted from wholesaler to retailer by opening their doors to home customers, delivering groceries to customers directly.

Not only available to residents across Devon, they are now delivering beyond the borders, into the whole of the UK. In partnership with DPD; Dart Fresh are now providing some of the best that Devon has to offer to new customers across the country. Ordering is easy via their online system!

Dart Fresh has been a family run business since 1957, supplying produce to the wholesale, multiple, shops and catering trades. By changing their business model, this family run business continue to look after, and serve customers in self-isolation or at working as keyworkers, during these unprecedented times.

Their customers have included NHS staff, families and those at the greatest risk of contracting COVID-19. In the space of a few weeks the company has evolved from never supplying to online customers in their 60 year history, to supplying hundreds of people with their produce every day.

Director John Pritchard says: “We’ve been delighted to offer support and a small comfort to our local communities during a difficult time. With supermarkets and others unable to provide timely delivery slots it’s been great to offer next day delivery to people right across the south west and beyond.” 

John continues: “The feedback to our service has been tremendous and as such we will be continuing our online ordering after the pandemic, providing communities with the freshest produce whilst supporting our local growers and suppliers”

Dart Fresh are furthering their help to communities by supporting local charities – 50p is being donated to the NHS for every box of washing powder and washing up liquid sold, and 50p is being donated to FORCE Cancer Charity for every pack of sliced gammon ham.
