GUEST POST: Support a local charity and boost your food business.

Hungry Minds is looking for food partners to provide paid-for healthy meals to local families.

In the last 12 months we have seen an extraordinary level of support from local cafes, restaurants and food providers for local children and families who have been affected, not only by COVID-19, but also by the government’s failure to provide them with meals during half-term.

It is very clear that businesses in Devon have a big social conscience and now it is time that they were supported.

Hungry Minds is a charity in Devon that aims to do two things; de-stigmatise food aid provision and reinvest the food aid pound back into the local economy.

In order to do this, we work with trusted partners to identify families-in-need and fund local food businesses to provide these families with a healthy meal. Prior to covid-19 this was a meal in-house but this is not possible at the moment.

As a result, we are now looking for independent cafes, restaurants and food providers to partner with us to provide takeaway meals for families using a voucher scheme. Whatever your takeaway offering, whether it is order on site or order in advance we can accommodate you and reimburse you for the meals you deliver to our families.

The long-term aim is to provide this on an ongoing basis but the immediate offering is for March 2021.
